Frank Creighton

Frank Creighton is Executive Vice President and Director of anti-piracy for the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), a Washington D.C. based trade association with more than 200 member companies responsible for creating, manufacturing, or distributing more than 90 percent of all legitimate sound recordings sold in the United States.

Since joining the RIAA in 1985, Creighton has overseen all anti-piracy investigations and RIAA's online and Internet sound recording piracy program. Under his leadership, the anti-piracy team has secured millions in judgements against infringers, shut down the massive distribution of raw material supplies to major music pirates around the United States, and removed millions of unauthorized sound recordings from the Internet. Nationally, he is recognized as a frequent speaker on anti-piracy and copyright related issues before industry representatives, government, law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies, the press, and other audiences.

Creighton is an active participant in the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition and the International Intellectual Property Alliance. Prior to joining the RIAA, Creighton attended the State University of New York, Stonybrook.
