Amie L. Clifford

Amie L. Clifford is an Assistant Director in the National Programs Office of the National College of District Attorneys. She currently also serves as an Assistant Solicitor for Richland County, South Carolina (2002 -present), and has previously served as a Judicial Fellow at the United States Sentencing Commission (1999-2000), Assistant Solicitor in the Charleston County Solicitor's Office (1991-1999), Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Appeals Section of the Office of the South Carolina Attorney General (1984-1991), and staff attorney with Piedmont Legal Services, Inc. (1983-1984). Ms. Clifford has been and continues to be very active in state and national bar activities. Her current service includes service as a President of the South Carolina Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, Member of the American Bar Association's Standing Committee on Substance Abuse, and Deputy-Chair of the Ethics Committee of the American Bar Association's Government and Public Sector Lawyers Division. A 1982 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, Ms. Clifford is admitted to the South Carolina Bar (1982), Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals (1983), U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina (1982) and United States Supreme Court (1986). She has given over 40 CLE presentations and written in excess of 50 outlines, materials, articles and book chapters for state and national bar publications and presentations.
