May 9-11, 2002 at The John Marshall Law School, Chicago, Illinois Robert S. Apgood
Bringing real, practical experience to his law practice, Rob spent over 20 years in the computer software industry, developing and marketing sophisticated computer and network performance tools domestically and internationally. He merged one of his companies with another in 1992, which then made its initial public offering in 1997. The majority of Rob's practice is in Federal Court defending criminal matters, and recently co-represented Vasily Gorshkov in U.S. v. Ivanov and Gorshkov, a case where the defendants were charged with cracking U.S. companies' computers and stealing credit card information from Russia via the Internet. In that case, the government set up a "sting" operation, lured the defendants into the U.S., and subsequently arrested them for their alleged criminal activities.
